Feelings on 45

Written 12/19/17

Instead of having a productive, forward moving administration, the current president  is only looking to dismantle and take things away from U.S. Citizens. It is unclear if he is aware of what the role of the president entails  they are supposed to work towards what is in the best interest of the country as a whole, not constantly look for ways to only better the the 1%.

I am worried about what the next three years hold for the country, if this is what less than a year looks like under his administration. He is not taking what the citizens are fighting for or what they need to survive into account.  Just two examples of his disregard for the majority of his country can be seen in the administration’s continued attempts to overturn the Affordable Care Act and a the new tax bill that will financially harm not only the middle class they promised to save but also those living in poverty that the barely address. Beyond our president’s inability to work for his own country, he also has a complete and total disregard for the planet. How will we continue to strive as a nation  if there is no longer a planet to live on? If he continues to strip away the size of national parks, where will our oxygen come from? How will we combat the rising CO2 and methane levels without these undeveloped lands providing a space to produce oxygen?

He does not see the value because he does not understand. He does not care to understand because he was not taught to listen to others. He can not also see the value in it, even when it is explain in monetary terms, because he is afraid to be seen as wrong. This country, that was once great in the eyes of others, is now a joke and can never recover that strength under our current government because the leader is a joke. His ego will not allow him to be wrong. His ego will not allow us to move forward. His ego does not make for a great leader.

To anyone that voted for him and honestly thought that he would be a good leader, can you explain how you are feeling now? Do you see your error? Do you see the destruction you brought? You are just as much at fault as he is. Those of you that chose not to vote, do you regret it? Are Hillary’s emails and her lies still just as bad as what 45 has done? Do you still think that was a good choice? Not voting was a vote for him.

Not to mention the numerous impeachable offenses he has done in less than a year. It is baffling that he is still in office. President Nixon was removed from office after one offense. President Clinton received articles of impeachment after one controversy. However 45 is still in office after starting his term under investigation, not transferring his shares of his private business out of his name, accusations of sexual abuse, nepotism with the political roles, and obstructing a federal investigation to name a few. President Carter owned a family farm and had to sell it once he became president as it was a conflict of interest, since there was concern that he could be swayed through private funding being funneled through the farm. Three past presidents have all adhered to these regulations, but so far not 45.

We can’t go back and change the past. We have to live with the present we are given. But the only way we can change our present to create a better future, to actually make America Great Again, is to work together. To stand together against this man and the destruction he is bringing on our country and on Us. He has taken away land, taxable income, access to help to many Americans, and he will not stop there. He is not done. He is trying to take away access to healthcare and women’s rights to their own bodies. What is next, voting? Will he take that away?
